I had the ribs, they were to die for! Absolutely the best I have had. Sweet sauce but not overpowering and light enough to be tasted but allow the flavor of the meat to come through as well. Absolute heaven.
So why not put this place into the BBQ category? Well that would be selling them short. They have a excellent menu that soars way beyond just ribs. Everything from pastas to salmon and what lies in between. Most nights have entertainment starting around 8p or you can arive before if you enjoy just conversation.
The setting is open yet cozy. Sit inside or out or if you prefer at the little bar tucked off to the side. (they have a nice little bar menu full of snacks and a burger or two waiting for you as well).
Try them out, I dont think you will be disappointed! Also visit their web site to get the latest on hours and goings on at (

From their web site 2012:
Beautifully located on the largest lake in Mexico (Lake Chapala) and surrounded by mountains, there is no better place to eat, surf the internet, listen to music or dance than Cafe Adelita.
Situated in the small town of San Antonio Tlyacapan (one town over from Ajijic, Mexico) you are secluded from outside-world distractions.
The restaurant is in the center of town beside the town church and steps to the central plaza. There is a huge dance floor and the best sound system at lakeside. Ninety percent of the seating is covered and we have three large propane heaters so we're good to go in any weather! The food is excellent, and the menu is varied. Our dinners are priced right and excellent quality. All vegetables are soaked and purified, all meat is top quality and all water is bottled and pure. We also have day specials, so come in and check us out!
We have free high-speed wireless internet, a pool table, books to read and large screen satellite TV.
