The Presbyterian Church in Beaver was founded in June 12, 1887 by Rev. R.M. Overstreet. Nearly immediately he set about getting a permanent church built for the congregation. He raised $100 from friends but most of the money came from the church mission in New York. Supplies to build the church were ordered and shipped to Dodge City, Kansas the nearest rail point. Transporting the supplies over the dirt trails from Dodge City to Beaver took four days. The building measuring 24 x 40 foot was constructed promptly at a cost of about $1000.

The church has been altered little over the years keeping its original form and continues to serve its congregation.
