Oklahoma City's Bricktown Ballpark is home to the OKC Redhawks, a Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. The Redhawks season opener is April 5, just in time for fans to enjoy some big improvements to the facility (such as doubling the points of sale (fewer lines), brick exterior to the concession stands, and new paint).
The local TV stations and newspapers have covered the renaming of the Bricktown Ballpark. Yesterday it was announced that the new name would be Newcastle Field. Many in OKC expressed their concern about the ballpark being named after a different city, and some were worried about the Newcastle Casino having naming rights. Today the news reported that the ballpark name had been changed again, this time to the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, a name that reflects the Oklahoma heritage.
