Upper Baker Street Stairs (West) - San Francisco, CA - Outdoor Stairways on Waymarking.com

Baker Street is a North-South Street in the Pacific Heights Neighborhood of San Francisco. After climbing to Vallejo Street, through car traffic ends. Baker continues for a short distance up the hill on a narrow street, for accessibility to some residential garages only.

Continuing from the Lower Baker Street Stairs and starting at Vallejo Street, this pedestrian sidewalk staircase proceeds up the west side of Baker Street. This concrete stairway is fairly steep and climbs through a nicely planted rock garden area. Eventually the tree plantings become a nicely shaded roof. About halfway up this hillside, the stairs end and become a steeply paved concrete sidewalk the rest of the way to Broadway. The mid-block coordinates of the top of the stairs is N37 47.608 , W122 26.703.

After making the trek on this stairway, I noticed that there was another stairway on the east side of the street, which I will have to explore another time. (Thus, the West designation for this stairway.)
