Though small with only .4 acres, this park serves as the central location for downtown Lee's Summit and features a Veteran's Memorial, fountains, coboose, Amtrak station, depot (housing Chamber of Commerce) and Mayor's Christmas tree. (borrowed from Lee's Summit Parks & Rec site)
This memorial consists of a fountain and a single flag pole on which the U.S. Flag is raised. There is a central marker at its base that reads, "All Veterans Memorial In Honor of the Men and Women who Served Our Country to Defend Our Freedom." There are five other markers here each one displaying bronze plaques, two of which honor the Merchant Marines and the Nurse Corps.
