Bette Davis Visits Cuba - Cuba, MO - Murals on Waymarking.com

Bette Davis and her husband stopped along Route 66 at the Southern Hotel (across street from mural)to eat turkey dinners. A local photographer Wilbur Vaugn asked to take her photograph but was refused. Later after they had finished their dinner and were leaving the hotel Wilbur took the picture anyway. This upset the husband and he chased Wilbur. The chase ended when the husband slipped and fell in the mud. Wilbur developed the photo and it was printed in the local newspaper.
