At the top of Sherwood Square, a portion of the Telford shopping centre, is a peculiar kinetic clock. The shopping centre in Telford is one of the largest in the country and is sure to feature the first big High Street names that spring to your mind in England.
The clock is located near the centre of the shopping its centre square is this clock which features a frog above the clock face, and a moving wheel. As time ticks over the fly wheel moves from the frog end to the box end and appears to be driven by the pendulum and a clockwork system. This helps it keep time and as it moves across animates portion and the frog himself.
"The centre only really came under larger development when it was purchased by the Universities Superannuation Scheme group in 1990. Thenceforth, a refurbishment program was undertaken, including the addition of large roof windows, which admitted more light into the centre. USS also created the Sherwood Square area and added the popular Frog Clock."
