"Die dem Erzengel Michael geweihte römisch-katholische Ursulinenkirche an der Linzer Landstraße wurde zwischen 1736 und 1772 mit zwei Türmen und einer spätbarocken Fassade erbaut. 1757 wurde sie geweiht. Die Gestaltung geht auf den Architekten Johann Haslinger zurück.
Im Inneren befinden sich sehenswerte Kunstschmiedearbeiten und zahlreiche Altarbilder von Bartolomeo Altomonte.
Der von Johann Matthias Krinner entworfene Hochaltar wurde im Jahre 1741 aufgestellt. Das Hochaltarbild aus den Jahren 1738 - 1740 stammt von Martino Altomonte. Es zeigt im Zentrum den Kirchenpatron, den Erzengel Michael. Davor sind die Erzengel Gabriel und Raphael dargestellt.
Die Kanzel aus dem Jahr 1740 ist mit Reliefs und Allegorien der (damals bekannten) vier Kontinente auf dem Schalldeckel geschmückt.
Die Ursulinenkirche war früher Klosterkirche der Ursulinen und dient seit der Restaurierung 1985 als Kunst- und Konzertkirche. Weiters ist sie Gemeindekirche für das Forum St. Severin (Katholischer Akademikerverband der Diözese Linz).
Angeschlossen an die Kirche ist der frühere Sitz der Ursulinen, das in den Jahren 1692 bis 1712 erbaute, inzwischen vollkommen renovierte Klosterbäude. Im Jahr 1968 wurde das Kloster von den Ursulinen verlassen, vom Land Oberösterreich erworben und darin das Landeskulturzentrum Ursulinenhof untergebracht. Im Keller des Gebäudes befindet sich der u\hof:, ein Theater in dem jahrelang kritische Stücke zeitgenössischer Künstler aufgeführt wurden, das aber inzwischen Theaterstücke für junge Leute darbietet.

Am 3. Juni 2009 geriet der Dachstuhl des Ursulinenhofs durch Funkenflug in Brand. Die Funken entstanden bei Schneidarbeiten im Keller und wurden über einen Lüftungsschacht unter das Dach verteilt. Dabei wurden der neu errichtete Festsaal sowie einige weitere Räumlichkeiten schwer beschädigt." - Quelle:Wikipedia

"The St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Ursuline church dedicated to the Linz highway was built in 1736-1772 with two towers and a late Baroque façade. She was ordained in 1757. The design goes back to the architect Johann Haslinger.
