Over three hundred headstones grace the veterans area in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD.
This area is home to the annual Memorial Day Service put on by American Legion Post 17 every Memorial Day.
Zach Aman completed this project with the help of the main sponsor, Codington County Post 17 of the American Legion, which is very supportive of the Scouting program.
The veterans are consists of two areas, one with approximately 200 headstones and another with approximately 100 headstones.
These headstones had accumulated dust, dirt, moss, and stains from over the years and Zach took on the project of cleaning all the headstones. He lined up materials and labor and the project was completed in 2011.
