These two provinces each possess some notoriety. Banteay Meanchey contains the town of Poipet, which is the main and busy land crossing with Thailand, while Siem Reap contains the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat (tourist goldmine). Cross into Cambodia from Thailand, find yourself a bus or taxi, and 90mins-2 hours later you will be here, on the provincial border.
This border is over a small river, and there are lots of signs. Not only of the provinces, but also the districts, which also terminate here. The Highway is busy: cars, buses, trucks, water buffalo, motor bikes, and people. Apart from that nothing to differentiate the lands around. A region of rice fields, small farms, small villages, busy people, each going about their own life.
Type Of Crossing: Province
