Oeschinensee (Lake Oeschinen), is a beautiful Alpine lake, fed by the glacial brooks of the 3000 meters high peaks of Blüemlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn. Lake is located 4 km east of Kandersteg in the Oeschinen valley (Bernese Oberland, Switzerland).
Lake Oeschinen lies at the foot of massif of the Bernese Alps (Blüemlisalp). Oeschinensee is situated 1 578 m above sea level and is one of the larger lakes in Bernese Alps. A gondola train leads from Kandersteg to a location near the lake. A half-hour walk across pastures and through pine forest takes you to the lake. The water in the lake warms up to 20°C during the summer months.
