ENG: Zachotín is small, but very old village, located 9 kilometers from Pelhrimov. The oldest written reference to it dates from 1379, when it was part of the archbishop's estate in the Red Recice. In 1420 it became part of Pelhrimov estate, alternating with Pelhrimov several owners. Today is a separate municipality and has about 250 inhabitants.

Its landmark is the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, originally Gothic, rebuild to Baroque style in 1718. Interesting small monuments is a pair of wayside shrines, a stone columns reminiscent of the column in which Jesus Christ was flogged. This type of monuments appeared already in the Gothic period, the zachotín ones (though undated) are much younger - probably from the late 17th or the 18th century.

According to the village was named asteroid 12468 Zachotín (1997 AE18), discovered in 1997. see: (visit link)
