This stone twin arched bridge carries Station Road in a single lane over the river Dove. In earlier years the locality was very busy. A railway with station ran bside the river. Nearby was the Dearne and Dove canal which carried coal from the local pits. The canal, pits and railway have now all gone, the railway track is now part of the Trans Pennine Trail. River Dove carries overflow water from Worsbrough Reservoir which supplied water for the canal.
In June 2007 there was severe flooding in Yorkshire. The river Dove flooded and the water rose above the bridge and the parapets causing some damage. Web site has a picture-
