Manýristická brána je jedním z mála puvodních pozustatku mlýna císare Rudolfa II. Mlýn v Císarské obore v Bubenci získal Rudolf II. roku 1584. O jeho pripojení k obore však usiloval již predtím neúspešne Maxmilián II. Císarský mlýn, který se budoval asi od roku 1589 predstavoval ojedinelý soubor manýristických staveb, zahradní architektury a vodních del, sloužící kratochvíli císare, jejichž presný smysl a úcel je zahalen rouškou tajemství.
Mannerist gateway is one of the few remnants of the original mill of Emperor Rudolf II. Mill acquired Rudolf II. in 1584. He let to built a unique collection of Mannerist works, landscaping and water works, diversion serving the emperor from about 1589, whose precise meaning and purpose are shrouded in mystery.
