Long Description:

Beautiful Lake Nemrut (Nemrut Gölü in Turkish), the second largest crater lake in the world, is located inside the crater area of Mount Nemrut in East Turkey.

The water level of icy-cold and crystal clear Lake Nemrut is in the elevation of about 2 247 m. The lake occupies the huge summit caldera (diameter 7.5-8.5 km) of Mount Nemrut volcano. Mount Nemrut is a stratovolcano, and began erupting during the Quaternary and continued to be active until 1597 A.D.
