WanderingAus wandered by heading to the Waroona Visitors Centre to give some advice on Geocaching to the Visitors Centre Manager and her colleague from the Harvey centre. They are enthusiastic about attracting people to the district through geocaching, and plan to buy several gpsrs to lend out for free. They also plan to place a number of geocaches to supplement those already there, and probably will also hold an event sometime in the future.
As I was approaching Serpentine I stopped to take the photo of Lewis Road, which I've probably passed a couple of hundred times in the past, because it leads to some of the nicest parts of the southwest of Western Australia. My son was married at his bride's family farm less than a kilometre down the road, and I own the geocache GC21HAC WanAus 159 - LKA Serpentine less than a kilometre up the road (in the Dead Centre of Town) at the Serpentine Cemetery.
My attempts to take a photo while holding the camera at arms length had some framing problems, but was nicely focused. Then I sat the camera on top of the post at the far end of the "End of Road Arrows" sign and used the self-timer, got perfect framing, and it was out of focus - probably focused on the top rail of the sign. Of course looking at the small screen on the camera it looked fine.
