This park was constructed to commemorate Alberta's 100th Anniversary as a proud member of Canadian Confederation. It is a small park located in the 'downtown' of Rocky Mountain House in land that is best suited for a small urban park. There is little space here for a commercially viable building, although there may have once been one.
Rocky Mountain House is on the Cowboy Trail and the community has some of that cowboy feel. If you get off the highway and into town you may want to pick up a small picnic to enjoy in this small park. There are a number of shops that are nearby that would allow you to get more than what you might need. Watching the time with the clock on the walk will keep you on schedule.
Don't forget to look at the plaque that is found here that explains some of the history of the area and its early pioneers and explorers. Although the celebration is that the province is 100 years old the history of Rocky Mountain House is much longer.
