Bolt - The View, Mochdre, Conwy, Wales - European Historic Survey Stones, Monuments and Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This triangulation bolt is located in a rocky outcrop at the summit of a steep hill known locally as The View (Yr Olygfan) near Mochdre.

According to the Ordnance Survey database this bolt was refixed in 1983 and moved slightly from its original location.

Although the coordinates for this trigpoint are recorded in the OS database no height information is given. My GPS gave a height of 178m.

There are a number of steep public footpaths that can be taken up to The View from Mochdre. Nearby parking is very limited.

There is is a small orientation table near the bolt which indicates what can be seen in each direction and helps you appreciate the fantastic views from the summit.

As a bonus there is a geocache located a few metres from the bolt.
