This plate-girder and through-truss bridge, is one of two railroad bridges in Dunbar Township built by the Western Maryland Railroad, this one being called 252.6 (Miles from Baltimore, MD) between 1910-12 as part of the Connellsville Extension. This bridge is 731.5 feet long and goes under Pennsylvania Southwest Secondary Railroad.
This bridge and the Greenwood Bridge, three-tenths of a mile further northwest, was rehabilitated when this trail was constructed in 1994 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for $827,000.00.
