A large stone obelisk in the memory of Queen Anne. The foundation was commissioned by Thomas Wentworth in 1733 in memory of his friend and mentor, Queen Anne, who had died 20 years earlier. There are two inscribed panels, one damaged but mostly legible, the other virtually unreadable. Obelisk is sited in Rainborough Park, part of the Wentworth Castle estate and next to Queen Annes Lodge.

The readable text from one panel reads at the present -

And in mortal memory of Queen ANNE
Obelisk was erected
? her faithfull Minister
Wentworth Earl of Strafford,
Vicount Wentworth of Wentworth
Woodhouse and of Stainbrough,
Baron of Raby Newmarc? ??d Oversley,
and Knight ??? e most noble order of the Garter.
1734"
