Co je na známce?

  • Na turistické známce je stará radnice, která stojí na spodní strane Krakonošova námestí.

  • Jádrem budovy je puvodní renesancní dum, který roku 1591 navrhl italský stavitel Valmadi.

  • Roku 1861 zpustošil centrum mesta veliký požár, který poškodil i radnici. Ta behem rekonstrukce získala novogotickou podobu. Pri této prestavbe pribyla k radnici i štíhlá hodinová vež.

  • V osmdesátých letech radnice prošla další rekonstrukcí, pri níž byla fasáda upravena do dnešní podoby, kdy zadní trakt zdobí renesancní psanícková sgrafita.

  • Dnes v budove naleznete infocentrum a reprezentacní prostory mesta.

O Trutnovu

  • Trutnov je bývalé okresní mesto, které se rozkládá v údolí reky Úpy v podhurí Krkonoš.

  • Legenda ríká, že mesto založil rytír Trut poté, co tu premohl draka. Proto je dnes drak zobrazen i v mestském znaku.

  • Na jare roku 2011 mel Trutnov 31 085 obyvatel.

What is it on the stamp?

  • On the tourist stamp we can see the old town hall which stands at the bottom side of the Krakonoš Square.

  • The core of this building consists of renaissance house designed in 1591 by the Italian architect Valmadi.

  • In 1861 a great fire devastated the city center. The Town hall was also seriously damaged.

  • After the burning the town hall was reconstructed and got the neo-gothic form. During this renovation the slim clock tower was added.

  • In the eighties, the Town Hall was reconstructed again. The facade was modified to its present form when the rear wing of the building is decorated with Renaissance Sgraffito.

  • Today you will find in the building the municipal information center and representational spaces.

About Trutnov

  • Trutnov is a city in the valley of the Úpa river. It lies at the foothils of the Krkonoše (also known as the Giant Mountains). In the past Trutnov was the administrative center of the Trutnov district.

  • Old legend says that Trutnov was founded by knight Trut, who gained a victorious fight over dragon. Therefore, the dragon is displayed at coat of arms of the city.

  • Trutnov has a population of 31 085.
