This memorial is to honor all the American Revolutionary War soldiers that are buried in Henderson County, KY. There is a list of names on the plaque of known soldiers in the county, with one name being synonamous with the area, Gen. Samuel Hopkins who has a town named after him nearby (Hopkinsville).
The memorial is at the corner of Main St and 1st St in downtown Henderson in front of the county courthouse and on the edge of the block that contains Central Park.
The inscription on the plaque reads:
"Erected in the memory of Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Henderson County - General Samuel Hopkins, Col. Wynn Dixon, Col. John Cannon, Col. Gabriel Green, Maj. John Holloway, John Martin, Joel Gibson, Col. Nathaniel Powell, Col. William Marshall, Capt. John Furna Cannon, Isham Sellers, Edward Davis Bennett - This tablet erected by General Samuel Hopkins Charter Daughters of the American Revolution 1916"
