Motorists on this not so heavily travelled road are well advised to heed this crossing sign. The runway threshold is only a few feet from the edge of the road and the runway slopes downward away from the road. This means that light aircraft pilots may be much lower than normal as they approach their landing here and could well impose a collision hazard.
