Marker text:

About 100 yards SW stood the church where Garner McConnico, a pioneer from Lunenburg Co., Va., organized a Primitive Baptist congregation about 1799. Destroyed by storm in 1909, the church was rebuilt at its present location on the Liberty Pike, about 3 miles NW. The old cemetery remains.
