Like many Italians, Cosimo and Angie came to the United States in the 1960’s. They are both from Giovinazzo, Italy. They arrived in New York and pursued the American dream. Cosimo began to learn the tricks of the trade and Angie focused her attentions on raising their daughters and homemaking. Although, there were plenty of Italians in New York they both missed home. After a decade in the states Cosimo and Angie were both homesick so they decided to return to their homeland. This adventure lasted a few short years. They realized that they missed the states and returned in the late 80’s.
Their return landed them in Atlanta, GA. Cosimo began a business adventure with his brother-in-law and began to open Italian pizza joints in many of the Atlanta malls. They had a restaurants at Southlake Mall, South DeKalb, Cumberland and Phipps Plaza. Cosimo realized great success and enjoyed the restaurant business. They also began to sell some of the mall restaurants and began to open new locations in downtown Atlanta. Although, the restaurants did well the commute to Atlanta grew longer and longer. And this led Cosimo and Angie to explore options closer to home.
While driving through downtown Lawrenceville, Cosimo noticed a vacant store front on Crogan Street. After inquiring about the space and signing a rental agreement their new adventure began. They have realized their greatest success at this location. You can smell the pizza cooking from two blocks away. Customers come from Dacula, Winder, Loganville, Suwanee and as far as Monroe! The pizza is hot and the beer is cold and the atmosphere…well its New York style!.
Although, Cosimo and Angie have pseudo retired and turned over the restaurant to their son-in-law you can still find them yelling at one another on Friday nights!
