Wat Krong Ruar is located a few kilometres east of the largish, northern Thai city of Phitsanulok. One distinguishing feature of the temple is a large (maybe half a metre high) golden Buddha (waymarked). Before this Buddha is a prayer area, and with the prayer area is this large, golden bell. Visitors to the temple are encouraged to ring the bell, which produces a distinctive, deep twaaaaaannnnnnnnnng. Though a small donation (20 baht) is the thing to do.
