The so-called 'Peter-Henlein-Brunnen', a fountain dedicated to Peter Henlein, located at the Hefnersplatz in Nürnberg, Germany, Bayern, is listed on the German Monument Registers.
The Peter-Henlein-fountain in the Hefnersplatz recalls the great inventor and master of Nürnberg. Whether Henlein invented the pocket watch or not, it argues the scholars. The fact is, he has done with the miniaturization of components important preparation for the production of such.
The Peter-Henlein-fountain was unveiled at the opening of an watches exhibition 1905. Were donated to the fountain monument of the city of Nuremberg and the watchmaker covenant. The design of the memorial is by the Berlin sculptor Max Meisner. The cast of the Henlein figure resulted from Ernst Lenz. Since Peter Henlein's facial features are not known, was chosen to run in the form of a fountain and not a monument.
