The lion is a symbol of Zurich. Even two lions are in its Coat-of-Arms. So it is not surprising, that one beatiful statue of the animal is located on the Western bank of the Zurich Lake. On the end one of the wharfs there is is a high stone pedestal and on its top is sitting huge statue of sandstone lion with Coat-of-Arms in his paws. The lion is perching as it is on the water’s edge and he seems to be looking after the travellers on the lake as well as on the city centre.
