Erected in 1900 and consisting of a cast-iron sculpture of a winged woman and boy cherubs mounted on a sandstone block, this memorial commemorates the South African War and two local men who died in the conflict.
This monument together with a WW1 monument are located in Bryan Park which is located at the western end of Casterton's main street.

Erected by the people of this district to the memory of those brave men of Casterton Det. Of H Co V.M.R. who gave up their lives for Queen and Country in South Africa 1900
