Long Description:
Prior to the Normans arriving on our shores with their stone built structures, this site would have had a wooden church built by Saxons. There is evidence of a 7th century wooden church, and a later stone building. Parts of which are seen inside. The building we see nowadays dates from 15th century with additions and alterations over the years. The Victorian zeal to change everything only resulted in new stained glass windows and font cover. The chancel was rebuilt in 1885.
