The brick one room schoolhouse was built in 1909 replacing the original one room school building built in 1856. Winnifred Showalter was the first teacher in the new school for the school term March 1, 1909 to May 28, 1909. The Bunker Hill School District, also known as Joint School District Number 9, eventually consolidated with the Waupaca Unified School District in 1960. The school closed in the spring of 1962. The building is now a residence.
