The Lincoln Highway in New York State is is only one mile in length. It begins here and continues west along 42nd Street until it reaches the to the Hudson River at 42nd Street and 12th Avenue. from here a ferry took travelers across the Hudson River to Weehawken New Jersey.
One block west of the eastern terminus of the Lincoln Highway you come upon the first roadside attraction on the Lincoln Highway, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. In 2000, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum opened at 234 W 42nd Street, New York, NY., between 7th & 8th Avenues. It has become one of the main attractions for visitors to New York. The location is easily found - just look for the giant hands and large vertical sign that mark the entrance on the south side of 42nd Street then follow the crowd of people waiting to get in. They encourage on-line purchase of tickets, which are sold at a discount.
Madame Tussard's Wax Museum is listed on the Roadside America website. It offers a look at popular culture over time. Legends from sports, entertainment, politics, and history are depicted in life size wax figures.
