The two adjacent Thai provinces of Phitsanulok and Phichit lie in central Thailand, ~300kms plus north of the sprawling megapolis of Bangkok. Quiet lands—agriculture, a little light industry, and a dash of tourism. Here, on the border between the two, on the highway from Phitsanulok to Phichit, is a sign welcoming you to Phichit province. On the sign, as is customary in Thailand, three of the major attractions in the province are displayed. No welcome facilities visible. No corresponding sign on the road back to Phitsanulok.
