This is the site where the first Colorado potato beetle was found in Hungary in 1947. Communist propaganda claimed it as an imperialist attack and accused the West artificially planted the beetle by aircraft or by agents in the Soviet bloc countries (were completely ignored at the same time a similar calamity outbreaks in Western Europe) and was named by propaganda Imperialist or American beetle. In 1997 a documentary was made about it and later a statue of the beetle was palaced in the village square.
