Lots of tradition surrounds Carnival season. Parades, throws, Moon Pies, beads, king cake, the colors, and the traditions of each parading society are all part of what makes Mardi Gras special. The colors are purple, green, and gold. Most people have their favorite spot along the parade route strategically chosen for reasons known only to them. It may be access to the park or food. It may be access to beverages or ATM but each has their well reasoned reasons.

They throw a lot of different things at the revelers. Moon Pies are pretty standard but over the years, they have gotten smaller. The advantage to that is that they don't disintegrate when they land so you can eat them. They also throw peanuts, taffies, and Valentines candies. Toomies has the good stuff.
