This plain wooden cross was erected in autumn of 2011 to replace the weather damaged one in the grounds of the church. It is situated forward and to the right of the church door and fully visible from the road. Church dates from 1830 when it replaced Hoyland Chapel 1720, and serves the people of Hoyland, a township in South Yorkshire, near Barnsley.
