Founded in 920,
the St. George’s Basilica is the second oldest Prague church and the oldest one preserved at the Prague Castle.
The most impressive outlook on the ancient basilica is from Jirská street. The southern entrance is decorated with early renaissance portal, depicting St. George fighting the dragon, made by Benedict Ried´s workshop around 1515.
