Phitsanulok is one of the larger cities in central Thailand, and capital of the province of the same name. Near the city centre is the city train station. The station is fairly much of a standard design. The front of the station faces out onto an open area, with tuk tuks and 'motor bike taxi drivers', and with shops around. As with some stations there is a former train parked as a feature in front of the station. As you enter there is a ticket counter, through which are the tracks and a waiting area. The station has a cloak room (left luggage), and snacks and food on sale.

The station is on the long route from Bangkok to Chang Mai.
