"In the fifteenth century the village became independent and established itself as a parish, while it became a privileged place for the control of rates and taxes on products and tickets. It is precisely the first half of the century that dates the construction the existing bridge, an architectural work carried out at large from the model of the nearby bridge Ponte de Lima (raised, it seems, by the final decades of the fourteenth century).
Very slightly restored in 1955, when an arc threatened collapse, the bridge of Ponte de Lima is conserved as a structural element of the village and surrounding area. "
