There was a beautiful brick home here that was recently demolished, although the silo still stands. The home was once the house of George Phipps and his wife Sarah Ann Jennings. George was born in Whitby in 1842. George farmed on this property for several years and eventually moved to Toronto where he worked as a carpenter. George died in Toronto in 1919 of acute pulmonary congestion.
