Text on stone: "Oldest jurisdictional line in the country. Near here surveyors in 1664 erected "An Heape of Stones" to mark the crossing of the line between Plymouth Colony and Massachusetts Bay Colony at the Satucket Indian Path." "Abington Historical Commission 1980"
This "heape of stones" is on the boundry of what is now the Town of Abington and the City of Weymouth. It is also the boundry of what is now Plymouth County and Norfolk County.
Also at this location are a geocache and a stone post municipal boundry marker.

Visit Instructions:
When logging a Massachusetts Historic Marker, we ask that you not only describe your visit, but to upload a picture from it. The picture does not have to be of the marker - one picture of the marker is enough. But a photo of you standing next to the marker or a photograph the subject of the marker - those are examples of possible photographs to upload.
