Marker Text:
" This cairn commemorates the 258 lives lost in the battle to liberate the Falkland Islands in 1982. Following the launch of the "Stones from Home" project in 2002, these stones were brought by combatants of the South Atlantic campaign, by families and friends of the fallen and by other visitors as well as 258 collected by HMS Chatham. A list of inscriptions on the stones can be found in the Chapel's archives. On 14th June 2007, to mark the 25th anniversary of the end of the war, Her Majesty the Queen attended the National Act of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at Pangbourne and placed Her stone. The placement of further stones at the base of the cairn is encouraged; periodically they will be incorporated in the memorial. "
