Université de Montréal was born in 1878 and it ranks among the world’s major institutions of higher-education.
It has now different campus. This building in Laval is now opened since September, 2011.
The six-storey building, covering an area of ??20,500 square meters, is surrounded by a plaza of the City of Laval - Place du Carillon - including a fountain as well as a tower with about thirty bells.
A glass wall built on the ground floor of the structure will allow interaction between inside and outside, between academic environment and public square.
The second floor hosts a library and computer labs. On the fourth floor are found four amphitheatres, they all open on an open court allowing students and participants to come together and network. The other floors will host classrooms, laboratories and faculty offices.
