A major redevelopment of the Gosnells city centre took place from 1999 to 2005, and part of that redevelopment involved demolishing the existing Town Hall and Public Library and replacing it with the
Five Star Green Rated The Agonis @ Gosnells Civic Centre, which includes a
Community Lotteries House.
Gosnells Community Lotteries House is supported by Lotterywest. Lotterywest helps hundreds of organisations by sharing the profits of the products sold, such as lottery tickets, lotto, and Instant 'Scratch and Win' tickets. Support provided by Lotterywest includes the provision of capital funding to provide community based facilities known as Lotteries Houses.
The Gosnells Community Lotteries House provides secure affordable accommodation for community organisations involved in the support and/or delivery of non-profit community services in the south-east metropolitan corridor.
By providing this space, the community has access to a wide range of not for profit organisations in a central location, reflecting access and equity for all members of the community.
The premises are for the exclusive use of so called "eligible organisations" for benevolent or charitable purposes. These Not For Profit community organisations include Anglicare/Kinway, The Australian Asian Association of WA Inc, Gosnells Community Legal Centre Inc, Gosnells Women's Health Service Inc, Gowrie (WA) Settlement Grants Program, Independence Foundation Inc, Mission Australia/Next Step Community Drug Service, Relationships Australia (WA) Inc, and Save the Children - Multicultural Early Learning Program, as well as Starick Services Inc, which provides crisis accommodation and support services for children, young people and women experiencing family and domestic violence, and Sure Foundation Inc, which provides stress management, counsellor and similar services including relationship counselling.
There are 'You Are Here' Maps at all entrances to The Agonis, but I've been selective in my choices and left a couple for other Warmarkers to mark.
