The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church of the town of Torre de Moncorvo, stands in the place of an original parochial temple of the Middle Ages.
The ambitious and majestic monument we see today began in 1544, according to an unorthodox plan which conceived the main entrance on the east and the high altar on the west, in a clear subjection of the work to the urban layout of the village.
