"Die Bibliothek der Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde (FH) wurde entworfen von den Architekten Herzog & de Meuron und 1998 fertiggestellt. Sie ist einer von zwei Neubauten der Architekten auf dem Campusgelände der Eberswalder Hochschule.
Das Gebäude erscheint von außen als schlichter, introvertierter Quader. Der Fotokünstler Thomas Ruff gestaltete die Fassade. Sämtliche Glas- und Betonelemente wurden in einem speziellen Verfahren (ähnlich dem Siebdruck) seriell mit Fotografien bedruckt. Die visuellen Informationen der Außenhaut weisen auf den Informationsgehalt einer Bibliothek hin, sie versinnbildlichen laut Pierre de Meuron konzentriertes Wissen. Er sagte: Ohne die Fotos wäre das ein langweiliger Klotz. Im Jahr 1999 erhielt das neue Bibliotheksgebäude einen Architekturpreis für dessen gelungene Integration in das Umfeld der Friedrich-Ebert-Straße." wikipedia

The Library of the University of Applied Sciences in Eberswalde was designed by the architects Herzog & de Meuron and was completed in 1998. It is one of two new buildings of the architects on the campus of the University Eberswalde.
The building appears externally as a simple, introverted cuboid. The photographer artist Thomas Ruff designed the facade. All glass and concrete elements were in a special process (similar to the screen) printed series of photographs. The visual information of the shell indicate the information content of a library, they symbolize, according to Pierre de Meuron, concentrated knowledge.
