The marker for this bridge is a bit unique. It is on one of the 4 large flat steel bollards filled with concrete. Welds on the face of the bollard reads ACJVS 2010. This stands for Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School. Students from this school began construction in 2010 and the bridge was opened in 2011.
Located on West Liberty Street just west of Route 534 in Geneva, Ohio its 18' span carries traffic across Cowles Creek. The Liberty Bridge is the shortest covered bridge in the United States. Interestingly it is located in Ashtabula County which is also the home of the longest covered bridge in the US. The estimated cost was $400,000 which was about the same as the cost of replacing the existing culvert pipe with a new one. Also at the site they constructed a small toll booth similar to what covered bridges had during pioneer days.
