Elle a commencée en bande AM
CHRS 1090 est entré en ondes en 1956 par Radio-Iberville Ltee. Elle, ne diffusait que durant le jour et ne faisait partie d'aucun réseau. La station a déménagé ses studios à la fin des années 1960 dans la Ville de Jacques-Cartier. La station a changé de main plusieurs fois: Radio Rive-Sud (CHRS) Ltee. en 1974, Radio-Diffusion Michel Mathieu Inc. en janvier 1984, puis la station est retournée à Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu en 1985. En 1990, Diffusion Power achète CHRS, qui éprouvait des difficultés financières. Les lettres d'appel ont changé pour CFZZ et la station a été officiellement relancée le 24 mai 1991.
Bande FM
Le 4 septembre 1992, CFZZ a obtenu l'autorisation de passer à la bande FM à la fréquence 104,1 MHz et est donc devenu Z-104 Le rocker sympathique. La puissance a augmenté à 1350 watts en 1995. En 2000, Corus Québec fait l'acquisition de Diffusion Power. Le 21 juillet 2005, le CRTC approuve la demande de Corus, d'échanger ses stations, incluant CFZZ, avec les stations CFOM-FM Lévis et celles du réseau Radiomédia d'Astral Media pour la somme de 11 millions de dollars1. CFZZ a rejoint le réseau Boom FM la même année.
CFZZ-FM is a French language Canadian radio station located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Owned and operated by Astral Media, it is part of the Boom FM network. As such, the station has an oldies format.
Originally known as CHRS, as one of the very few daytime-only stations in Canada. CHRS once managed in the 1970s a third-place in ratings during evenings—a time when the station was not even on the air. The station added nighttime service in 1988
The station switched to FM and adopted its current call sign in 1992, going under the name "Z-104 Le Rocker Sympathique".[2] Z-104 was a community radio station with a mainly adult contemporary format.
