In 1915, the Glengarry & Stormont Railway (affiliated with the Canadian Pacific) opened this rail line which would eventually be nicknamed The Peanut Line. By 1997, the tracks were removed on the CPR’s Cornwall subdivision. The bridge remains. The Township of South Glengarry hopes to maintain the roadbed as a recreational trail.
