The EMHS football field is located at the far northeast corner of the school grounds. A large parking lot is on the west side. Concession stands are open for most of the games. Freshman and JV football typically play their games on Monday and Tuesday nights here (for home games). The local middle schools also use this field for 7th and 8th grade football games.
In addition to football, the field is used for soccer as well as track events and is the main practice location for the Bulldog Band.
"Edmond" is written on the north end zone, and "Memorial" is written on the south end, by the scoreboard.
The first class of Edmond High School, the only secondary school in Edmond, graduated in 1922. It was until the mid 1960's that the school was moved to its original location on 15th street, between Boulevard and Bryant. In 1975, the name of the school was changed to Edmond Memorial High School to honor six alumni who were killed while serving in Vietnam. Because of its rapidly increasing size, in 1994 the school split into three, now rival schools, including Edmond North High School and Edmond Santa Fe High School.
Memorial has undergone numerous renovations and additions, and the once-distinctive E shape of the school no longer exists. Once of the biggest changes in the past few years has been the addition of wrought-iron gates around the school perimeter, as well as two manned guard stations. The main office (located in the Welcome Center) is on the north side of the school.
